Group Therapy Services 

Healing Space Therapy offers virtual group therapy with a focus on fostering safety, facilitating growth, and nurturing the journey towards healing.

Group 1: Overcoming Trauma

(8 week closed group)

This is both a psychoeducational and process-oriented group meant to help people come to a deeper understanding of the impact of trauma on their current lives and gain effective strategies to manage the symptoms of trauma.  This group provides a framework for building the self-awareness to recognize the difference between reacting to trauma triggers vs. responding to them in a more attuned way. Our group is designed to create a safe space for members to engage in self-exploration and receive support and encouragement.  

Group Format

There are 8 modules, sessions take place once a week for 1.5 hours. The session structure is as follows: 

  • Check-in 

  • Mindful moment

  • Quote and brief discussion on how it relates to the topic

  • Psychoeducation component

  • Group Discussion

  • Group Processing

  • Exercise/activity

  • Check-out

Week 2: Introduction to trauma and self-care
Week 3: Trauma and the brain
Week 4: Triggers
Week 5: Survival responses
Week 6: Relationship with Self
Week 7: Breaking the cycle and self-compassion
Week 8: Play, creativity, and goodbyes

Group 2: Processing and meaning making

(8 week closed group)

​This group is meant to provide members with an open space to share, connect, process, and discover.  The goal is to cultivate further self-led healing through compassionate witnessing of old and new wounds. This group involves the tender task of making meaning out of life’s challenges, mourning the loss of “what could have been”, and working toward the life you want.

Topics that will be covered:  

Week 1: Introduction, Collaboration, Community
Week 2-7: Topics will be tailored to the needs of the collective group members. Themes include: Boundaries, Relationships, Systemic issues, Emotions, the Body, The Mind, Inner Child, Inner Critic, Vision for the future, etc. 
Week 8: Closure/Endings
