Our approach
Every therapist here is trauma-informed, with additional training in trauma. We draw on multiple traditions and techniques - always prioritizing your safety, building trust, and meeting you exactly where you are.
EMDR, IFS, EFT, ACT, CBT and more — all evidence-based treatments.
Healing happens in safe, trusting relationships — so that's where we begin.
Progress and goals are shaped collaboratively throughout our work.
We move beyond managing symptoms to understand and heal the deeper patterns, experiences, and wounds beneath them.

Open the full FAQAll of our therapists offer a free 15-minute consultation — a relaxed chance to ask questions, share a little about what you'd like to work through, and get a felt sense of whether it's a good fit. When you're choosing a therapist, it can help to think about a few things: location, therapy type, area of expertise, insurance coverage, and cost. We'd gently encourage you to read through the therapist bios too, to see who resonates with you — and if you'd like a hand finding the right match, we're always happy to help.
Sessions are 60 minutes. Many people find that meeting weekly at the beginning helps build trust and momentum, but there's no one-size-fits-all — we'll settle into a rhythm together that suits your goals, your schedule, your budget, and the kind of therapy that feels right for you.
Our practice is private, so sessions aren't covered by OHIP. The good news is that many workplace benefit plans cover some or all of the cost of seeing a Registered Social Worker or Registered Psychotherapist — though coverage does vary, so it's worth a quick check with your insurer. We'll always provide receipts for reimbursement, and we're happy to help you figure out where you stand.
There's no set timeline — how long therapy takes really depends on you: what you're working through, the kind of therapy that fits, and the relationship we build along the way. We'll revisit your progress and goals together as we go, and you're always in the driver's seat.
Both are qualified to provide counselling and psychotherapy — the main difference is their training and governing college. Registered Social Workers are registered with the OCSWSSW and hold master's degrees in social work, while Registered Psychotherapists are registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and come from a range of educational backgrounds. What matters most is finding someone you feel genuinely comfortable with.
What you share with us stays private. We'll only ever disclose information with your consent, or in the rare situations where the law requires it — such as an imminent risk of serious harm, suspected child abuse, a court order, an authorized investigation, or a need to reach your emergency contact. We'll always walk you through how confidentiality works so you know exactly what to expect.
We lean into a holistic, trauma-informed way of working. Our therapists draw on many different traditions and techniques, gently weaving together whatever best supports you — always with your safety and our relationship at the very centre.
It simply means our work is guided by up-to-date research on what genuinely helps, paired with real clinical experience. The approaches we use — like EMDR, EFT, CBT, IFS, and ACT — are all well-researched, evidence-based treatments, chosen thoughtfully to fit you and where you are.
