My Story
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Q) with the college of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, an educator and a budding artist, who is a strong advocate of mental health among immigrants and people of colour residing in Canada. I received my Master of Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, and I hold a triple Honours degree from Mount Carmel College, India, in Psychology, Literature and Economics.
As someone who was born and raised in South Asia before moving to Canada for education, I approach therapy from a multi-cultural lens and tend to apply my awareness of the struggle, identity shifts, feeling disconnected and many other experiences within a compassionate, culturally-informed, and all under trauma-informed care.
I provide all clients with a trauma focused approach, and provide a trauma sensitive space through their journey of healing. I help navigate the flow of experiences from the past, present and help provide skills for experiences in the future. I am certified as an EMDR therapist as well as trained and experienced in Trauma focussed therapy, ACT, DBT and CBT modalities of therapy. My approaches also include art based therapy, identity and 2SLGBTQI+ affirming approaches.
If you feel stuck in between emotions, memories or are unsure of the path ahead, find it challenging to experience daily stressors of life, living with a painful past or life altering experiences, then we can work together and create a wholesome healing and transformative pathway for you. I tailor and authenticate my approach according to the needs of my clients as each of us are a unique blend of experiences and perspectives.
I also work with couples, for pre-marital counselling or post-marital counselling, to help couples navigate through their relationship respectfully and generate a sense of value for both partners, on their quest for understanding and finding the future for their relationship together.
My goal is always to provide all my clients with commitment of understanding and provide compassionate sensitivity, within a safe and non-judgemental relationship. This will also be the initial step in therapy, to create this space and relationship with my client.
I hope to shift your focus towards feeling your authentic self and re-dicovering your mental health in a way that makes you feel fulfilled.
