What we help with

Anxiety therapy

When your mind and body won't settle.

Clinically reviewed by the Healing Space Therapy clinical team

Anxiety is your nervous system trying to keep you safe — but stuck in overdrive. Anxiety therapy helps you understand what's driving the worry, calm the physical alarm, and build a steadier relationship with uncertainty. At Healing Space, we work with anxiety through a trauma-informed lens, because persistent anxiety often has roots worth understanding, not just managing.

What it can look like

  • Racing thoughts, worry that's hard to switch off
  • A tight chest, restlessness, trouble sleeping
  • Avoiding people, places, or decisions
  • Feeling on edge, irritable, or braced for the worst
  • Panic that arrives without an obvious cause

How therapy helps

We start by helping your body feel safer, then work with the thoughts and patterns that keep anxiety looping — and, where it fits, the experiences underneath them. You set the pace. The goal isn't to erase every worry, but to help you feel grounded enough to live the life you want.

Good to know

Anxiety, in brief.

Does therapy really help with anxiety?

Yes. Approaches like CBT, ACT, mindfulness, and EMDR are well-supported by research for anxiety. Many people notice more ease within the first several sessions, with deeper change over time.

Do I need medication, or is therapy enough?

Many people manage anxiety well with therapy alone; others find medication helpful alongside it. That's a decision for you and your physician — therapy works well either way.
